UNH Center on Adolescence closing

The UNH Center on Adolescence will be closing in July 2009. We have been pleased to provide research, training, consultation, and state-of-the art information to support the health and well being of adolescents and their families. Many of our reports, white papers, and fact sheets will continue to be available through the Department of Family Studies’ website. New Hampshire’s adolescent health strategic plan, Supporting New Hampshire Youth, Moving Toward a Healthier Future, which we developed in collaboration with the Maternal and Child Health Section of the NH Department of Health and Human Services, is also available on the Family Studies website. You may access these resources at http://www.chhs.unh.edu/fs/.

Kristine Baber, the Center’s founding Director, and Gretchen Bean, Program Manager for the Center, will continue to be involved in research and training focused on adolescents. Kristine Baber retired from the University of New Hampshire in May 2009 and will be doing educational and social science research, training, and consulting. She can be reached at kmbaber@gmail.com. Gretchen Bean has joined the faculty of the Department of Social Work at UNH and can be reached at Gretchen.bean@unh.edu.

We appreciate the opportunities that we have had to collaborate with a broad range of individuals, programs, nonprofits, centers, and governmental agencies to further knowledge and provide expertise to benefit adolescents and young adults.
